Vic & Juliet Welch 1980
Since 1980 Marlin has been a Cairns family owned and operated pool service business, with decades of local experience and a reputation to match.
In 1980, the Cairns area of North Queensland saw the birth of a family swimming pool construction company then known as Marlin Pools.
The Welch family became the respected franchisees of Pool Fab Pools within the far north region of Queensland. These pools were unique, as they were built as a kit pool of concrete and finished with a vinyl pool liner.
Hundreds of these swimming pools were installed in the Cairns area including luxurious locations such as Lizard Island Resort.
Today Marcus & his wife Gretal, along with his father Vic, still carry on the family tradition of renovating these vinyl lined swimming pools.
In addition, due to the decades of experience we have received working in the swimming pool industry, we have become qualified to handle all of our clients swimming pool needs from pool renovation, pool repairs to regular pool maintenance, cleaning and testing and energy efficient upgrades.
Our vast work portfolio includes a wide variety of residential & commercial swimming pool services. For example Marcus was the sole pool technician for the Palm Cove Novotel Resort (now Grand Mecure Rockford Esplanade Palm Cove Resort) for 7 years, maintaining their 2 mega litres of pool water. This experience along with expert training launched Marlin Swim Pool Service into the real estate and body corporate sector.
